Remote Assistance
To book your remote assistance session, simply call us. You will be required to have a valid email address, as we will send instructions and a link to download our remote assistance software.
A credit / debit card is also required, as this service will need to be paid for online. If you are an existing NTS Computing account holder, we can add this charge to your account.
Remote assistance allows us to remotely access your computer over the internet. You run some special software which you can download from us, and we can then access your screen, and control your computer via our computers at our office. Ideally you will need to have a broadband internet, 3G or GPRS connection however, we can work with dial up connections too, albeit somewhat slower.
Our remote assistance is very secure, all the data transmitted is encrypted and you have total control at all times. You can control the keyboard and mouse during the remote assistance session and terminate it at any point you wish.
Once the remote assistance session is complete, the software on your computer terminates and automatically deletes its self, so you can rest assure that no one can gain unlawful access to your computer or files.

What are the benefits of remote assistance?
Remote assistance allows us to resolve certain issues with out needing to visit you. Providing your problem isn't connecting to the internet, then we should be able to attempt to resolve most problems.
Providing you have an internet connection, remote assistance should be possible, no matter where you are in the world! We have a number of customers who we support remotely when they are away from home or the office. We have performed remote assistance for our customers as far away as Scotland, USA and Israel.
There are some situations where remote assistance will not be the better option of support, such as computers infected with viruses or malware, and computer that suffer from random crashes or freezes, as these may hinder the remote assistance process and we have other tools specifically for these problems.
Remote assistance can also be used for training purposes. If you want assistance in certain tasks, be it moving and organising files or setting up templates in Word, remote assistance make it quick and easy to guide you through these processes..
Because there is no travelling required, we do not need to apply a callout charge. Neither do we impose a minimum 1 hour fee. Remote assistance is charge in 30 minute blocks from the start.
Can I use remote assistance?
Unlike the remote services offered by our competitors, we can provide support for all versions of Windows, from Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista.
We do recommend you have a broadband connection, this
makes the operation a much smoother experience, as there is a large
amount of data transferred between computers as part of the remote assistance
process. Dial up internet connections are supported, but can
cause delays, interruptions, and disconnected remote
sessions.
Firewallss
Most firewalls will pop up a message on your screen
explaining that our software requires a connection to the
internet. If this occurs, you will need to allow the
application to act as a server or specify both inbound and
outbound access, as our software needs to send the screen
details to us, and receive mouse and keyboard data from us.
Network / Routers
Our software automatically configures its self to work
with your router. Unlike other remote assistance
services, our software will work within your network, with
no configuration or port forwarding needed.
