Networks

A Network is essentially two or more computers connected together, enabling them to share data. Networking is essential today for offices, and SOHO (Small Office, Home Office). It allows the sharing of files, resources, and internet connections.

Computers can be connected either by a physical connection whereby each computer is connected to a hub or switch via an Ethernet cable, or computers can have a wireless card and antenna attached to them, and communicate wirelessly via a wireless access point. There can even be a combination of wired and wireless connections, so laptops can be truly portable.

What Network is for Me?

I am a home user ...
A home office or family home user would be best with either a wired and or wireless network to allow other users or members of the family to access the internet and printers etc.

I am a small office user ...
A small office user would be best with a wired network, and only have a wireless access point if you have laptops that need network access where there isn't a wired network socket. If required, a central file store called a File Server can be set up so all your data is stored centrally. A backup solution can also be arranged to ensure your data is backed up daily and kept safe.

What We Offer ...

We can install both wired and wireless networks with in your business, office or home. We will install the cabling and / or wireless access points, hubs, switches, broadband / cable routers and configure your computers and printers for connection to the network.

For the small office, we can also set up a basic NAS (Network Attached Storage) file server and a backup solution to ensure your data is stored centrally and backed up.

We don't currently offer support for Windows based servers or Exchange servers, but this may change in future. For the size of business we are able to support, we find that a Windows server setup is often "overkill" for the requirements and can have a big initial cost with ongoing maintenance. There are many other companies that provide support specifically for businesses with this type of requirement.
